We’ll be playing at Rockwood Stage 1 on July 31st, 11p. But the really exciting bit is we get to follow a Michael Daves solo set, so come at 10p and enjoy a night of musical wonders.

William Gruff got to share the stage with a heavy duty, real deal tap dancer. Alex (the tap dancer) improvised over tunes and took a solo on Walkin On Water. I’ve always wanted to see that sort of thing. I saw Feist at The Academy of Music a little while ago and she had a board on the floor mic’d up so when she stomped her feet it was amplified.

Not only did I get to see tap dancing integrated into a band format, I got to perform right next to him. Thanks Alex, Thank you Rockwood Music Hall. Real Encores Rock. Crowd was amazing. The staff was great, the vibe was great. Boom shock lock.

VF3. Its not very often a band puts out something that I like on the first listen. Something usually makes my mind drift to, ” Oh, that sounds like so and so.” or ” I don’t relate to what the song is saying.” It could also include, “I don’t like how the drums were recorded and the guitars were treated unfairly.” and so on and so forth. Fortunately for me Radiohead is still making records. I didn’t get into the band until the beginning of this year thanks to some trusted music fanatics I know. Now i don’t remember when i wasn’t aware of them. Their new album is killer and here’s a tune from King of Limbs.

Ok maybe the title isn’t that funny, Holy Guacamole I can’t believe I’ve never heard these guys before and I hope I’m behind the curve here because they deserve some recognition. Merrill Garbus’ voice is amazing, I love how quickly and easily she can go from screaming to soft and lovely.

I love the NPR tiny desk series and I really enjoy how each group tackles being behind Bob Boilen’s desk. I can’t wait for the day we get to do this.
